Facial Yoga- For Youthful Skin

Yoga facial toning is considered to be a specific exercise program which stimulates, firms, and lifts every muscle of the face and neck. The claim is that by exercising these muscle there will be a reduction of sagging skin and the disappearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Many also believe the stimulation of the facial muscles will also lead to a clear complexion.

Exercise caution as you try facial yoga. According to Marie Veronique Nadeau, author of The Yoga Facelift, there is a right way and a wrong way to exercise your face. Any expression that you make repeatedly creates grooves in the surface of your skin. Make the expression over and over and the lines stay in your face even when you have stopped making the expression. Look in the mirror frequently to make sure you are not wrinkling other parts of your face when you exercise.

Aging is unavoidable process that every person goes through in his or her life. A lot of effort has been spent around the world on finding ways to minimize the signs of aging from simple makeup to plastic surgery. New trends and treatments appear in the media regularly that claim to slow down or reverse the aging process.

According to Alejandra Chaoul-Reich, a graduate student at Rice University, yoga practice can help you sleep better-no pills, no warm milk, no sheep. Take hold of your mind. Manage your thoughts using yoga meditation. Then use specific relaxing poses to invite sleep.

“Running through all of the exercises which comprise a yoga facial takes approximately 15 minutes, and according to advocates should be done once a day. Long term effects are supposed to include a reduction in tension, an increase in circulation, and less tension related headaches. A yoga facial will also tone and improve the general condition of the skin. In combination with a regular yoga practice, it could bring balance and focus to your life, especially if you rarely take time to take care of your body,” Smith said.

So essentially, face exercises can be also called yoga exercises for the face, since they bring balance,tone and harmony to your facial features. Light facial exercises will only slightly tone the facial muscles while more intense exercises will really sculpt and define the face, helping to achieve such advances such as a chiseled jawline and enhanced cheekbones.

A well-respected magazine and a news leader recently reviewed these facial movements. There was no mention of results and there were no credible testimonials to accompany the information. What we did see were photos of facial contortions, puckers and grimaces.

A wonderful side benefit of yoga practice is your body will detoxify daily in so doing your immunity system gets stronger. Did you know yoga can improve hearing and eyesight? Most of the declines our eyes and ears experience are a reaction due to decrease blood circulation. Over time many blood vessels become clogged in the neck as it becomes stiffer with age. When you practice certain yoga poses the neck gets exercise which increases blood flow and improves vision.
